On 7 February, Alfândega do Porto was the setting for the ‘red carpet’ event for Portuguese wine. Revista de Vinhos magazine revealed the big winners of the 2025 edition of the Best of the Year awards, celebrating the talent and innovation that define the sector.

The Highlights of 2025

Wine of the Year: Cartuxa Reserva Tinto 2019

Producer of the Year: Herdade do Sobroso

Winemakers of the Year: Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges (Wine & Soul)

Fortified Wines: Pereira d'Oliveiras (Madeira Wine)

Personality of the Year: Francisco Toscano Rico (CVR Lisboa)

The new generation and service excellence were also celebrated with prestigious awards:

Sommelier of the Year: Marc Pinto (Vila Vita Parc).

Revelation Winemaker: Bárbara Magalhães (recognised for her innovative and promising work).

Revelation Sommelier: Joana Pinhão (noted for her new approach and rigour in wine service).

The city of Braga shone as Gastronomic Destination of the Year, reaffirming the strength of Minho on the national scene and its ability to attract visitors through authentic flavours.

These awards reinforce Portugal's position as a world-class destination, where tradition and new talent come together in every bottle.
