Sala de Prova - Top Wines and Gastronomy at 21 meters high
12 November 2024
Sala de Prova is one of the restaurants that completes the panel of the new Time Out Market Porto, at São Bento train station, which opened in May last year.
The exterior of Time Out Market Porto features a 21-meter-high metal structure, built and designed by architect Souto Moura, with the Sala de Prova restaurant at the top.
With a panoramic view over downtown Porto and the detail of São Bento train station at our feet, the feeling inside this space is fantastic, enveloping and somewhat intimate.
The Tasting Room concept is based on a unique gastronomic and wine environment, where the main focus is on the consumer's sensory experience. Guided by the exceptional cuisine of chef Luís Américo and a brilliant selection of wines led by oenologist Bento Amaral, a member of the Revista de Vinhos tasting panel.
As for the wine service, we can count on the excellence and knowledge of sommelier and WSET 3, Sandra Reis, who also contributed to the birth of this new concept and decoration of the space.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, the Tasting Room offers a wide range of tastings and pairings for wine lovers, such as: tastings, pairings with cheeses, chocolates and other accompaniments. Events such as masterclasses, themed wine dinners and other activities are also organized. To enrich the experience, it is also possible to include cultural dynamics such as live music or wine quizzes.
It's also possible to taste lots of wines by the glass, including Barca Velha and Noval Nacional Port!
Last week, I Love Douro attended a presentation lunch, which was attended by journalists and editors, as well as winemaker Bento Amaral. A lunch where the harmonization of the dishes by chef Luís Américo and the selection of wines by Bento Amaral made all the difference.
